The Modern Renaissance Palette

Today I want to share with you all my review and first impressions of the Modern Renaissance palette by Anastasia Beverly Hills. In 2016 it was one of the most hyped about palettes when it came out last summer due its many amazing attributes and features. The first thing you notice about the palette is the gorgeous pink velvet cover – this is one of the reasons why it’s a revolutionary palette. Most brands tend to go for the classic plastic palette, however Anastasia Beverly Hills changed the game with the velvet texture.

The size of the palette is also another great feature. It is light-weight and small enough to be able to fit inside a full handbag, travelling with it will also be a piece of cake. My favourite thing about the Modern Renaissance palette is the shade range. My GOD is it beautiful! With 14 colours, you’ll have more than enough to experiment with and a number of different looks that you can create with it. Mattes, shimmers, neutrals, golds, pinks… what more could you want?!

Now let’s get on to the actual quality of the palette itself. After watching countless youtube reviews and mini Instagram tutorials I was left with very HIGH expectations for this palette, and I am very pleased to say that those expectations have been met outstandingly! Believe me when I say: THE PIGMENT OF THE COLOURS IN THIS PALETTE IS UNREAL! I’ve honestly never seen anything like it and I’m actually shocked. It blends out like a dream and a little bit definitely goes a long way!

The brush that comes with the palette is absolutely amazing too. One end is for blending, and the other is for packing on shadow. This is such a useful feature of the palette and contributes to making the Modern Renaissance palette one of the best palettes on the market right now. Although it is quite pricey, retailing at £42 in the UK, I would say that it is more than definitely worth spending money on. Trust me, you won’t regret it.

The first look that I done with this palette is a cut crease, of course. If you know me personally you know that I LOVE a bright and bold cut crease. When I saw those bright pinks I honestly couldn’t ignore it, straight away I knew that those would be the first colours that I would be experimenting with. As you can see from the picture below, I even went a bit extra and added gold glitter and a bold winged liner. I absolutely LOVED how this look turned out and I can’t wait to experiment with this palette even more.
